New Mirror

I got an earlier Bday gift of a carved Spanish cornucopia mirror. This one appears to be based on an 18th century design. Quite beautiful.

Back to Lost Creek Lake

Lost Creek is 92% full. We took full advantage, putting in at Catfish Cove and getting up the Rogue river as far as possible.  In the springtime, natural pumice is washed into the lake. We collect some for different uses.

Walking Poppy

With Debbie in Scotland for a few weeks, I've been walking Poppy every few days.  Is fun having a dog to explore with again.

Banco in Situ

One year since our young girl was taken from us far too soon.

The New Bench

I gave our 30 year old coffee table to friend Becca. I got a gorgeous turkish Kilim wrapped bench. Although not a coffee table, we've shuffled things around and this bench now lives in the bedroom.

Walking Poppy

With Debbie in Scotland, I've been walking Poppy in the mornings. We did really well when walking tandem with Bouton. But when we came unto Rizzo, she felt a bit small.

Robin Bashes

We got to some undergrowth that us inflatables were not anxious to tackle.  So Robin plowed ahead and bashed her way through to the other side. Unfortunately, it just got thicker so she retreated with several spiders hanging on for the ride.

It's the farthest we've ever been able to get up Cow Creek

Galesville

Galesville reservoir has never been higher. The lake was so full.  10'+ on last year's high.  The bird houses are usual 20'-30' above us as we paddle past. We were able to get quite a ways up Cow Creek to see where the water runs into the lake. Being so full, it was a three hour kayak and we were all beat afterwards.

Lindsey's new Eddyline was on display.

Goose Eggs

On our Galesville paddle yesterday, we passed a stump in the water with 6 large eggs nestled amongst the down and decomposed wood.  When we paddled back, the mama goose was on top of them so we stayed wide of her nest.  Lurking nearby a bald eagle surveyed the situation.

First Paddle

Bruce and I took our first paddle of the year on Lake Selmac yesterday.  Although the scenery was magnificent, the lake was pretty ugly.  The winter freeze usually cuts the algae down a lot.  Yesterday looked more like August than March.

Bird Chair Recovered

The new cover for the Bird chair arrived Friday.  We had a bit of a time getting the front to lay down flat.  But after a day with a sandbag on it, the fabric yielded to the wire frame.  Everything's fine.  The old one had compressed and faded over 23 years.
Below is Harry Bertoia sitting in his creation with a Diamond chair in the background.

Final Knick Knacks

The final bric a brac came for the T's living room. A Bohemian green glass vase and a Kashmiri papier mache plate.

Baby Sitting Poppy

We had Poppy for the day today.  She reminded us how special (and quiet) Seven and Banco were. Poppy is delightful but loud

And The Award Goes To ....Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Godzilla just won his first Academy Award.  I've been waiting 50 years for this!

We've been watching his new show on Apple.  The art department came up with some brilliant signage for monster sheltering.  I went online and of course there is all manner of merch with the warning signs.  I opted for a t-shirt that has been getting some interesting remarks.

Pathology

The pathology report of the lopped off toe came back this weekend. The term "gangrenous necrosis" leapt off the page.  Seems there are a few different kinds of gangrene.  Fortunately, I didn't have the "turn black, rot and fall off" kind.

Bandages come off next Tuesday.

Yes. I Was Wondering
